Howdy, my name is Kyle Novak!
I’m a background artist, 2D animator, and game designer with fondness towards action cartoons, zany robots, spicy foods, and chiptune music.
I was born and raised in Lawrenceville. Been interested in art since I was in Elementary School, but never treated it all too seriously until I met my best friend Carter in 7th grade. Both of us really liked doing sequential art, so in 9th grade Carter and I started our first game titled “FIL.” There I fell in love with the freedom and variety that comes with being an artist, which was really my biggest influence as to why I got into professional art.
I have graduated in Spring 2023 with a BFA from KSU in Digital Animation, and have wrapped up work on my capstone film titled “Gray Matter vs Zula,” my most ambitious animation yet. I was both an animator and background artist on a short film titled “Restock Day.”
I also created my own RPG entitled “A Foolish Adventure,” and have participated in a couple of game jams hosted by Game Jolt.
I’m a big ol’ enjoyer of video games: Halo, Super Smash Brothers, Splatoon, and Supreme Commander to name a couple. I enjoy fitness, especially walking with music as a way to decompress. I dislike capers (small pickled berries), being sleep deprived, and leaving my room messy.

My primary goal would be to work in a professional animation studio, which would both help me gain needed experience working in such an environment as well as future work opportunities.
